Dear Grade 8 Aimee,
You made some good decisions in Grade 8. Maybe not great hair decisions but the ‘80s were not a great hair decade. You knew you weren’t like the other kids in your class and began plotting your escape! You stuck your nose in enough books to know that there was a big wide world out there and you wanted to see it. You were right when you refused to take the suggestion from your school principal not to take the academic-level courses. Two university degrees later and a job you love are the proof! You still can’t spell but it doesn’t matter anymore - there’s spellcheck. Your wanderlust also resulted in you meeting the love of your life and having two wonderful daughters. Today’s Aimee thanks you so much and gives you a great big hug.
